Dillard House Restaurant
1158 Franklin Street, Dillard, GA 30537The Dillard House is located in the northeastern part of Georgia on US-441. It is open 7 days a week and all holidays. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served "family style". The selections change for dinner only. The cooking is in a true to Southern culinary style with big portions of homemade dishes -- not Sysco ready-to-heat food here! No guest should leave hungry; if you ask for more you'll get more. You don't pick off a menu because you get what they're serving brought to your table.
The Dillard House Restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1917. They still use ingredients from surrounding farms when possible and have a longstanding record for being recognized by the readers of Southern Living Magazine.

Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village
20900 Oakwood Blvd. Dearborn, MI 48124There are two separate items here, not counting the Imax theater.
The Henry Ford Museum is a showplace of technological development. The collections are too varied to even start an outline in this brief description.
Greenfield Village contains historic structures from many places. Many are related to American industrial and technological development.
If you don't have at least half a day for one of these, consider a later date for returning to visit the other. If you are within a two-hour drive, this place is a "must see".
One can also arrange a factory tour while visiting or a visit to the research center.
This is an urban location with very limited RV parking and no local camping. Overnight parking is available at Camping World on I-94 (16m~20min).

Natchez Trace Parkway
Southern terminus near Natchez, MSThe Natchez Trace Parkway starts at Natchez, MS. From the southern terminus the road travels in a northeasterly direction toward Nashville, TN.
This is a great drive. No commercial trucks are allowed. It is a well-maintained two lane road with the speed limit at 50 MPH. There are many interesting things to see including wild life along the Trace. Some campsites are along the Northern end of Trace.

Brookgreen Gardens
1931 Brookgreen Gardens Dr, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576Brookgreen Gardens at Murrells Inlet (a few miles south of Myrtle Beach, SC) has a significant outdoor collection of figurative sculptures by American artists. It is also a wildlife preserve. My wife and I were blown away by the sheer beauty of the place.
In 1931, Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington founded Brookgreen Gardens, a non-profit 501(c)(3) garden museum, to preserve the native flora and fauna and display objects of art within that natural setting. It serves that purpose well while attracting up to a thousand visitors each day. It is on the Register of National Historic Places. Though the original plantation house burned several years ago, you can still capture the sense of elegance when walking around the grounds. A butterfly house opened the summer of 2011. Three places are available for food service; we ate in the Old Kitchen at the end of Live Oak Alleé.
Near Huntington Beach State Park and Campground.

Tennessee
Natchez Trace Parkway
Northern terminus near Nashville, TNThe Natchez Trace Parkway starts southwest of Nashville, TN. From the northern terminus the road travels in a southwesterly direction toward Natchez, MS.
This is a great drive that meanders through a portion of Alabama. As with the Blue Ridge Parkway, there are no commercial vehicles. It is a well-maintained two lane road with the speed limit at 50 MPH. There are many interesting things to see including trails that lead to natural settings such as small waterfalls. Some campsites are along the Northern end of Trace.
Planning ahead can make your trip more enjoyable. Knowing where to stay, what to see, what to do, and where you can find food and gas will help you prepare for your trip. While on the parkway, official Natchez Trace Parkway signs will designate turnoffs and places of interest. Follow the clearly marked signs, and discover the treasures along the parkway.

Wyoming
Bar J Chuckwagon
4200 Bar J Chuckwagon Rd, Bar J Ranch, Wilson, WY 83014According to many locals, this is the best chuckwagon experience to be had in the Jackson Hole region of Wyoming. After having been there, I'd agree. In fact, no visit to the region would be complete without an evening at Bar J Chuckwagon.
Expect to stand in line to pay for the meal and entertainment. Also, expect to be one of more than 500 in attendance. People come in cars and on tour busses.
Since so many are being fed in a small span of time, the meal shouldn't be compared to a great restaurant. It is, however, a good example of cooking as done "on the range".
The western music show includes masterful singing and harmony by the performers and a good helping of stand-up comedy. An understanding of western culture isn't necessary but sure is helpful.
It opens at 6 pm and dinner is served at 7 pm. You must be seated to receive your instructions for getting your grub. The show will end about 9:30 so plan to make it an enjoyable evening.
This is family-run by people that know what they're doing. Reservations strongly recommended.

Triangle X Float Trip
2 Triangle X Ranch Rd., Moose, WY 83012Off the beaten path. Triangle X offers 10-mile float trips on the Snake River starting in the more scenic area of the river, historic Deadman’s Bar. The trips offer distinct wildlife and nature viewing opportunities all along the river corridor. Plan for a pleasurable and informative Snake River experience. Other concessioners offer only a 7-mile trip. All trips end at Moose Village visitor center. Float trips are scheduled based on daylight hours and level of the river. The experience varies based on how much wildlife you see, the small rapids encountered as well as the flora and fauna encountered. However, you won't be disappointed. Allow almost four hours for the whole experience so go early or late in the day.
