Why Join?

If you're a motorhome owner, here are seven quick reasons you should join FMCA.

1. Family
FMCA is a social organization. In fact, perhaps the greatest member benefit is the fun and camaraderie shared by people who enjoy the common interest of motorhome travel.

2. Benefits
• A monthly magazine featuring motorhome reviews, technical information and travel articles — a $30 value free with membership
• An emergency medical air and ground evacuation program — a $100 value free with membership
• A special rate on a roadside assistance plan
• More than 40 additional benefits that enhance the motorhome lifestyle

3. Information
Members look to the association as their source of information about all facets of motorhome ownership and travel. Family Motor Coaching magazine, the association’s official monthly publication, leads the way in covering the motorhome lifestyle.

4. Savings
FMCA offers programs that entitle members to:
• Discounted motorhome insurance
• Low rates and longer terms for motorhome financing
• Fuel discounts
• Campground discounts
• Car rental discounts
• Telephone calling card discount
In addition, many of FMCA's commercial members offer discounts on their products and services to family members who present their FMCA membership cards.

5. Peace of Mind
FMCA wants motorhome owners to enjoy their journeys, as well as their destinations, with as few worries as possible. That’s why we offer:
• Low-cost travel medical insurance when traveling outside the United States
• A discount on home security monitoring systems
• A mail forwarding service that alleviates travelers’ concerns about where to receive mail
• The MEDEX Plus emergency medical assistance program to manage the complexities and expenses associated with emergencies that occur away from home

6. Conventions and Rallies
Members have the opportunity to attend two international conventions per year that showcase motorhomes and related products.

7. Chapters
FMCA has more than 500 active chapters, or subgroups, throughout North America, which hold rallies throughout the year. These gatherings, open to all motorhomers, give members the chance to get together more often and at locales nearer their homes.

Procedural Matters

It is required of Eastern States members that they also be members of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association). Prospective members may click here to download a PDF version of the FMCA application with special coding for GMC Eastern States. Print page four and fill in the information requested. Send the completed application to the address provided on the form. Payment to FMCA may be made by check of credit card.

Please keep in mind that there are separate applications for membership in FMCA and Eastern States. Also, the FMCA membership application accessed via the link above states "GME-GMC Easter States" so FMCA may appropriately link your membership to GMCES.

The Reward for GMCES

Though not immediately apparent to club members, by requiring membership in FMCA Eastern States and the member become subject to FMCA’s liability insurance when attending official club rallies and functions.

FMCAssist Member Benefit

One of the benefits of belonging to FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) is FMCAssist. This enhanced program provides emergency medical evacuations and a variety of other assistance services for FMCA members traveling in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A change is coming in 2011 that every Eastern States member should be made aware of.

Effective January 1, FMCA will have a new provider for the emergency medical evacuation coverage offered as part of the FMCA member benefit package. This enhanced plan — FMCAssist — offers a full range of benefits to cover the needs of members traveling in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The new program is being provided by Travel Guard, a Chartis company.

The core FMCAssist program offers emergency medical evacuations for members who are traveling in their motorhome for business or personal travel at least 100 miles away from their permanent place of residence. The plan covers all FMCA members in good standing and eligible dependents while they are traveling with the member. Note that this plan does not cover any loss caused by or resulting from any trip taken outside the advice of a physician.

The key benefits of FMCAssist are listed below.

  1. Emergency Evacuation
  2. Repatriation of Remains
  3. Return of Vehicle
  4. Accidental dEath, Dismemberment, and Paralysis
  5. Travel Guard Services (additional benefits)
  6. Reimbursement for Roadside Assistance
Being a participant in the plan is simple. Download the PDF explaining more about the plan. Print pages two and three then supply your FMCA membership number on the appropriate line of the wallet card area. Note that these pages are designed to print on front and back of the same piece of paper. Print only page two then, using the same piece of paper, turn it over and print only page three. This will result in producing two wallet cards; one for the member and the other for the co-pilot.
